Learn the languages with Babbel, a new Flex application

You want to learn a new language? Babbel is an innovative application developed in Adobe Flex that can help you! Babbel shows you pictures and pronunciations for new words to learn in the language - users may be Italians, Germans, French or Spaniards.

The site launched a beta p ublic today and accepts entries!

TechCrunch describes some aspects of Babbel. Users may include adding new words (as well as images and audio files) in the site, and modification of words is also possible. You can also send messages to other users, and plan your lessons with others - great option if you need to learn envouragement!

Technically, the site runs a backend done with Ruby on Rails. Servers and data using the Amazon Web Service (S2 and EC 3).
