Mugsho is a Facebook application that lets you add visual effects (color, distortion, mirror, ...) photos taken from a webcam or already existing on your Facebook page or on your computer.
Neoia took advantage of new opportunities for Flash 10 to add new effects created by Pixel Bender and apply deformations in real time on photos or a webcam.
This application was designed to provide an initial innovative service users for their pictures and their webcam on the Internet. However, given the exponential growth in the number of users Mugsho, Neoia looking for a business model for its application and companies are already interested in Mugsho for use on their sites.
So how do you think this kind of rich applications can be marketed? Feel free to leave ideas in comments to help Neoia in its reflection!
This is a port of the game in C, C + + to our favorite platform, the Flash Player. I had already talked to a port of Quake 1 to AS3. It is therefore of Doom which is now playable through flash with Alchemy, a toolkit to compile C or C + + for use in the Flash Player. The whole is quite complex and is explained here.
The game is available via this link (warning, he planted once and IE does not work on Mac ...) and has a very good FPS (frame per second this time). Such manipulation could allow new opportunities for the Flash player ...
Thomas Jung, through the SAP Developer Network, has posted details of a working group he leads along with Rich Heilman, Dan McWeeney and Ed Herrmann during the SDN Community Day in Las Vegas.
The workshop aims to educate developers on the new user interface features in the new version of Web DYNPRO (technology development interface for SAP) available in Netweaver 7.0 Pack. Thomas has posted the video below shows an overview of these new features they are studying in the workshop.
All new enhancements are available, but the mulch is really impressive Flash feature called Island (mentioned in the 6th minute of the video). In summary, DYNPRO Web now allows you to integrate components Flash / Flex in Web Interface DYNPRO with seamless integration and easy. Web DYNPRO elements can communicate with Flash / Flex and the Flash / Flex can communicate with Web DYNPRO ... what has 2 very exciting:
DYNPRO site is a closed loop which until now could not have custom controls, now it can have any type of user interface components that you can make Adobe Flex
More importantly, it can totally change the face of the interfaces in the enterprise. Imagine highly interactive user interfaces, visualizations of innovative data, videos etc etc
This will, I think, LES also have user interfaces 2.0 ... yes I know 2.0 is a cliché ... but it could be exciting.
Since July 7, the solution OpenSource e-commerce Magento offers an API to access the content of shops Magento. This API supports SOAP and XML RPC and provides access directly to customers, orders and product catalog of a Magento site.
This API is interesting to integrate Magento with all third-party applications in business and who must interact with a site ecommerce (ERP, CRM, Logistics, etc. ..)
This API will also develop an interface for a site e-commerce or Full Flex to develop a BackOffice Flex for Magento.
Less than six months after its launch, Adobe is updating its competitor Hulu, Adobe Media Player. The new version of Adobe Media Player is more intuitive and present. It should also offer more content. The software company announced it has signed a partnership with Sony Pictures, which will allow Adobe Media Player to offer its users the entire films from studios.
You are probably already aware of the release of Adobe Media Player (AMP) which is built into AIR. Many popular TV PBS, CBS, MTV and others have signed with AMP. AMP I believe will quickly become a simple and effective way to display the content and improve the experience utilisateur.De addition, Adobe has also provided videos for AMP. One of the most interesting is the channel ADC (Adobe Developer Connection). Adobe evangelists simply show how to develop in Flex, AIR, Flash ... etc
The last interview is that of Ely Greefield, which talks about Flex 4 and the future of Flex.
You'll find the same content on tv.adobe.com, but the advantage with AMP is that you can save your content and watch it later in "offline".
The CEO of Adobe has just explained that Adobe has internally a version of Flash / Flex that works quite well on the emulator provided with the SDK from Apple. From a technical point of view, this poses no problem and Adobe seems to be progressing quickly on this point.
But most remain difficult for Adobe to convince Steve Jobs to offer Flash for owners of the iPhone and reassuring performance.
Adobe has just put online a beta version of a platform for collaborative work on the site called Acrobat.com.
The platform includes 5 tools belonging to Adobe: - A word processor: Buzzword - A web conference tool (screen sharing, chat, notes, audio, and video): ConnectNow - A file converter to PDF: Create PDF - An area of document sharing: Share - And an online storage: My Files
These tools can no longer have to worry about a hard disk crash or theft of your computer as any office suite can be hosted by Adobe. Note that Safari is not forgotten on the Mac since it is compatible as Firefox.

A week ago at the Flex Camp 2 in Toronto, Mike Portti presented a session to help us p romoting appllications our Flex and AIR. He talked about tips for submitting applications in the Flex Showcase and blogs as Flex-info, submit your content to the developer center, and official Adobe programs to help you promote your application.
